Vintage Breakfasts, Cocktails and Catch Ups.

Ok so I've been in one of my little moods since this morning and thought the best way to snap out of it was to distract myself with writing a blog post!

When you've worked seven days in a row, being told you have a bit of holiday to use up by the end of the week is the best! Instead of having to do a normal 10-6, Thursday I was done by 11.20am and of course a day in the sun was on the cards.
(How lush that the sun came out just at the right time for me?!)

Near where I work there's a cute little tea rooms which does the best breakfasts ever.
(Incredibly instagramable!)

Of course I had to get a few photos.
It's the kind of place that you have to use a tea strainer with your tea and the furniture is probably older than me.
I've only ever been there a handful of times but I could praise it all day.
I felt incredibly classy sitting in a tea room sipping on my tea and catching up with a friend.

I couldn't stop there!
The sun was out so sitting outside sipping cocktails was for sure the only way my day could end.

There's a little place in Brighton called Revolution which is one of my favourite places for cocktails.
They change up their cocktail menu every few months and some of the new ones were incredible.
I'm so in love with the place that I have a Revolution card so that I can get cheaper cocktails all the time! (It's £4 for the card but honestly so worth it)

Never have I ordered an alcoholic drink and it come out in a teapot.
It made me incredibly happy.
Whoever thought of disguising alcohol to look like tea is a genius .. I feel like I need to meet them and tell them how pleased I was!
I wish a took a photo of all the cocktails I went for but I gave up in the end!

You know when you're really in need of a good rant about everything with your friends? Well I feel like I was able to do that during my day (Mainly about boys lets be honest!!) Sometimes it's just good to let it all out!

Oh yeah and I needed a photo taken of me drinking my teapot cocktail because it just excited me that much!

Happy Friday everyone!
If you're off out or getting ready to go out for drinks then have one for me.

Review - Revolution Eye Palettes

Ladies! (And gentleman!)
I'm sure you have all heard of MakeUp Revolution?
It's the most affordable makeup out there so if you haven't heard of it you are definitely missing out!

My current love is creating new looks with my eye makeup. By that I mean sitting in front of my mirror and thinking I'm a makeup artist when in actual fact it probably looks awful and really unblended! Disclaimer - I am definitely not a makeup artist, I'm just a girl who likes to think she's good at improving her face with an insane amount of products!

So MakeUp Revolution is based in Superdrug or alternatively you can buy from their website.
I love going into Superdrug and having a snoop round the makeup section. My local store has just had a refurbish on their makeup section and it looks so good, I could honestly spend hours just browsing through all their makeup but let's face it if I did that I don't think I would have any money left!
With MakeUp Revolution I haven't tried all aspects of their products. I have a lot of their eyeshadows/ eyeshadow palettes and a few of their blush palettes.

The two products I am going to talk about today are the 'Flawless 2' and 'Beyond Flawless' palettes.
These consist of 32 shades in a palette which comes with a mirror and retails at £8 per palette.
Absolutely crazy cheap, I know!

So the first one is the Beyond Flawless palette and I would definitely say this one is my absolute favourite palette. (Excuse the absolute state of the mirror .. you can tell it's well loved) This is like the perfect palette for someone just starting out with makeup and someone like me who very much likes to keep the eye makeup to neutral colours! Definitely stick to playing it safe.
For £8 it is crazy how pigmented they are. I don't have to use a lot of product to achieve the perfect neutral eye look.

This one is the Flawless 2 palette and I would definitely say we have a love hate relationship. I find this one a lot more difficult to work with for some reason .. not because of the quality of the product but maybe more because some of the shades are a little out of my neutral comfort zone (I know you're all probably thinking they look pretty neutral but for me they're a little more out of my comfort zone) but I can definitely say I'm getting better at learning to love it! I use this palette more if I am going out and want a smokey eye because the shades are a lot darker.

I find it really quite difficult to find brands for eyeshadows which I can easily get on with but I definitely feel like the cheaper palettes are taking the lead for me at the moment. Some times you don't need to spend that extra money just for the brand name .. the high street are bringing out some serious competition with their dupes!

So that's my views on MakeUp Revolution .. well two of their products!
Let me know if there's any other products you would like me to review and I will give it my best shot.

Struggling With That First One.

Who else has sat in front of their computer wanting to do something but not been able to work out what to write or whether this is actually a good idea.
Because I have. Many times.
I have wanted to start a blog so much and so many times I've talked myself out of it for whatever reason.
Told myself it wouldn't work or no one will want to read it.
Let's face it! Yes that could be the case. But I'm not going to know unless I take that leap and just do it!

So here I am ..
I'm Maisie
A workaholic, shopaholic and borderline alcoholic!

So I hate looking at a blog and not being able to put a face to the name. Here's me proving the fact that I've always got a glass of wine in my hand!

Now here's the bit I struggle with!
What actually do you say about yourself for the first one?
What will people want to know?

I'll just go with the basics ..

Obviously my names Maisie
I'm 20 but give it a few weeks and I'll be 21! It all goes down hill from there, or so I hear.
I live near the sea and can 100% say a bit of sea air will forever be the perfect head clearer.

I live at home with my parents (I'm still a baby, I can't look after myself quite yet!) and my dog Trigger, he's not very photogenic so I won't be adding a picture just yet.

I own a crazy amount of shoes and I would go as far as saying I probably have a different shade of lipstick for every day of the year!
If you don't find me working you'll for sure find me splashing the cash on whatever takes my fancy! Oops!

I currently work in retail but really I want to be that girl who builds her own business .. making cakes!
Just the thought of maybe one day being my own boss and doing what I love makes me smile a lot.

Ok there's only so much I can write about myself before even I get bored!

If you've made it this far then congratulations!
I hope you have genuinely enjoyed yourself and hopefully things can only get better the more I get into this.

Thank you for reading
